I actually only found this out a few weeks ago. The washing machine came with the flat, and I only noticed the hot fill pipe when I went under the sink to repair a leaky waste pipe. I was surprised to see it, though it did answer a few questions about some unaccounted hot water usage (I had been blaming the missusRichie-from-the-Boro wrote: »- and I thought I was the only man left in the world with a hot fill washing machine !

Yeah, I never believed they had any kind of special thermal ability. I only bought them to stop the circulating warm air from hitting the cold glass pane. They really work in conjunction with the curtains though, I was shocked at how well it works. Did leave me with an urge to never open the curtains/blinds though!Richie-from-the-Boro wrote: »- really effective ones are astronomically expensive, I applaud the use of the Argos along with heavy curtain - it all adds to the % saved
This is another area where I was shocked by the results. The Blanket costs nothing to run on Economy7, and it only needs to be on a few minutes before I am totally overheated. I mainly got it for the missus though, and she loves it! I think she is mad because she sometimes uses it during the current warm weather, but I don't give a hoot, because it is so cheap to run!Richie-from-the-Boro wrote: »- ditto - I've long stated anything bigger than a 0.85kw in a bedroom is an unnecessary luxury unless bedbound
Yeah, I was just pleased to have hot water in the evening, the lower cost is just a bonus.Richie-from-the-Boro wrote: »- again 100% for it, like curtains / blinds / e-blanket its not PartL but its a heck of a contribution to not only savings - but comfort - well done
Thanks. I am quite proud of the energy savings I have made to date.Richie-from-the-Boro wrote: »well done0 -
