    its an orange dns issue
I have orange bb but use open dns (free!) instead - it usually works faster and is much more reliable!
http://www.opendns.com has all the information you need.

No problems with RyanAir thru open dns ;)

It's definitely at Ryanair's end and their dns entries.
Doesn't work on Virginmedia (telewest network) either.
  • OK, it's not worked for me in Spain for 5'ish days so i changed the proxy server i access the internet through (you can get a list of public servers at http://www.publicproxyservers.com/page1.html). I went through one in France (195.7.120.67 port 80) and now it works fine. I use firefox and you change the proxy via tools/options/network and most other internet browsers can be changed via that kind of route - just google a guide for it, if you can't work it out.

Very suspicious B.T.W, like someone previously posted, I would guess they are purposely blocking IP ranges to force people to call in given countries/areas. If not then it's a phenomenal !!!!-up by their IT people. I've been in IT for a decade+ and can't think of another example of such a large site being down in this way.

Anyway, good luck, that work-around should work till they decide to switch us back on ;¬)

How do you install this proxy server?

I'm not computer minded, thererfore if I need to do this thing, I'll need the exact steps on how to go about it.

Btw, the ryanair website was working this morning.. and it left again now. Page not found.

Is it some trick to avoid people from taking but the £20 offer?

Someone should tell the BBC or The Sun, that will embarrass them. I tried phoning but an automated message simply tells you to dial an 0905 number at a £1 a minute.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I contacted WhichBudget.com to tell them their links to Ryanair were not working. They replied saying I was right and it was a DNS server issue at Ryanair.

Our friend could access Ryanair she was with BT Connect.

BTW my wife was given by her daughter for Mothers Day a £20 voucher, BUT you cannot redeem it online. You have to phone, presumably the 0905 number meaning given waiting time and on hold music the £20 voucher by the time she gets through to Ryanair will be worthless.

I dont believe any of this conspiracy rubbish.
Ryanairs business is based on selling seats online. Its AUTOMATED for online sales. As soon as you phone, it involves humans so you are charged to speak to them. The charge is to DISCOURAGE you from phoning.
If their site cant be accessed online, then they will lose bucket loads of dosh.

I'm not computer minded, thererfore if I need to do this thing, I'll need the exact steps on how to go about it.
In firefox - go to tools - then options - then advanced (icon with cog) - then select the 'network' tab - click on 'settings' button then put a green dot in manually configure proxy - the white box opens up for you to put the new server details in xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and the port xxxx - click ok.

When the site's working again, (still not for me unless i go in via the aforementioned French proxy) remember to go back to the same settings window and return it to the 'connect to the internet directly' option.

For other browsers just put something like 'how to connect through a proxy server on internet explorer' etc.. in Google and you should get find a guide easily enough.

B.T.W Using a proxy like this is also a good way to get around 'country restricted' content like the BBC has - go in via a UK proxy to access their UK only content from abroad.

To the 'conspiracy rubbish' poster - It is easy to control global access to a web server and allow certain ip ranges in and to block others. For this to somehow happen accidentally and then last the best part of a week without being rectified is VERY odd.

Guess it boils down to a question of trust - are Ryanair capable of a dirty trick or two in order to manipulate the flow of their sales?
