Make sure that you don't delete the recent text message as if you do need to take legal action, that text may be acceptable as proof of them admitting to owing you the money.0

Thanks, I have kept all the text messages and emails, as well as kept a log of what phone calls I have made and times/dates, as well as other contact, so hopefully I am pretty well covered.0

Just an update on this. I received no refund so sent a "Letter Before Action" today. I have also been in contact with other people who have been ripped off by the same person, but for a much larger amount than me! Apparently the police have told them it is a civil matter, but I found the following website http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/ and have reported my situation on there.
Any more ideas welcome
