Virgin Media

My wife and I have been a Virgin Media for some time. However, for some time now, I have noticed that we are being charged for Films that we have neither requested or want.
This results in my phoning up Virgin to tell them of their mistake and usually they have cancelled the charge.
However, I have just come off the phone to Virgin to be told that they would NOT be cancelling the charge on this occasion!
It may only be £3.99 but if a huge company like Virgin does that to even 1% of its customers, that is a big revenue stream.
The lady who rang me up (Fay Polk) was very polite but also very
unmoveable.
This is NOT our fault. This can only be a fault of Virgin, either because their systems are wrong or because they allow others to hack their systems. I intend to tell the world about the useless customer service that Virgin provide.

Interestingly something similar happened to me last month. My virgin screen froze while I was trying to access the tv on demand, not realising it had froze I pressed the red button a few times. When the tv unfroze several screens flashed by and I realised it looked as if I had bought a film but somehow gone passed the screen of being able to watch it.

I didn't bother asking for a refund because I thought I'd probably pressed the wrong button while the tv was frozen though I was surprised I wasn't asked to input my supersekrit pin number.

I've not had any problems like this, but any time I've had problems with someone else and who I've been talking to hasn't been able to help me, I've asked to speak to the supervisor. It might just have been that she's new and doesn't know the protocol when this happens??

Generally I find that supervisors are more helpful than the minions cos they've probably seen that problem before and have more decision-making authority. If I were you I would phone them back and try someone different or a supervisor :)

Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies.
