Mint card offer but no interest

Hi I hope someone could advise and forgive me if this is covered elsewhere but I can not seem to find it.
Ive had my complaint upheld by Mint (RBS) and have been made an offer the only thing is that they will not add interest on the amount now being offered. the policy ran from 07/1998 until 07/2002, other successes Ive had to date have all added interest but on contacting them they say it depends if the policy ran in a plus or minus state,? As this was a positive policy no interst is due.
Should I persue through the FOS or would it be better to accept?
Any advice would be very welcome, though I dont really understand their reasoning and nor if IM honest did the lady I spoke with.

Hello there,
If this was for PPI on a credit card you only get the 8% for the periods of time when your card had a 0 balance. That might be what they're talking about - they should really have been able to explain this better to you when they spoke to you. I'd actually ring them back and make them explain it again.0 -
