Hi i wasn't sure where to post this. I'm just wondering about the 'Keep Calm' slogan, is copyright to the slogan just for the words 'Keep Calm and Carry On' and not other made up Keep Calm slogans ie:- Keep Calm and Stay Reem or Keep Calm and Eat Cake or Keep Calm You're Only 21?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Just a quick note to say I'll look into this later, unless someone does it before I get home (between 6 and 7)
I would have thought that whilst some parts are copyrighted, others aren't.

It was based on a planned ww2 government poster, and the reason it has taken off (and peaked maybe? ) is that it encapsulated a very British attutude, stiff upper lip, and all that. If the copyright belongs with anyone is a 1940's government department. Seeing how it is reproduced everywhere without licensing attributions on posters and whatnot, it suggests nobody is pursuing the mark actively. Make your own Crown, and make sure you license the typeface would be my thoughts.0

It appears to be more an infringement of a registered trademark issue than a copyright issue, but lots for you to read there0 -

I've just googled it, and this does seem to be the case.
Thanks for posting this, as I'm on my phone and can't post links at the moment.

I was looking at this recently. "Keep Calm and Carry On" is a trademark registered in the EU (currently being fought in EU courts), so I wouldn't use it at the moment. "Keep Calm and" is not trademarked so you can use it to your hearts content, but I guess you might want to check the specific phrase you're wanting to use just to check. But while researching this a few weeks ago I didn't find any other "Keep Calm and..." phrases that were trademarked. The only ones that you may want to avoid are those that include a trademarked name (eg keep calm and buy a Furby ) .
Hopefully the trademark case will be resolved soon ...0 -
