How to start up business

I dont understand why you're still pursuing this idea when clearly it isnt viable.
Can you sell it online? No, as there are other people selling it for less than you can whilst making a profit.
Can you sell it in a shop? Yes, but you'd have to sell a load of them every week just to break even, which equals high risk.
Have you the money to open a shop? No.
Can you borrow the money to open a shop? No.
Are there grants available of the magnitude required to open a shop? No.
Is there a family member / friend who will invest in the business? No.
This idea has no legs at all. Move on to another idea.
Ok. I get it, no one thinks it'll work and my question has been answered. Whether I continue to research it is up to me, but I'm not forcing people to continue with this thread. I've said multiple times about it not ending and going round in circles.0 -

I think the problem is you dont get it.
Clearly, against all advice, you think its a good idea.
Ultimately noone on here wants to see you lose time and a lot of money that you'll have to pay back on an idea that is wholly flawed, but if thats what you want to do...0 -

I do get it. I really really do. I don't think it's some all amazing money making idea, I just think it's worth me researching it and that is what I have been doing.
I will not pay a single penny until I know for sure that every single point has been looked at in extreme detail and the whole idea works 100%.
I have far too much spare time so I'm going to continue looking into everything regardless because you never know, I may find something that works or researching that could lead to another idea.0 -

What else is there to research?
You can look on the Internet for ever to find a solution to tricky problems, but making money comes down to simple maths.
If the maths does not work, move on.0 -

Cheaper places to buy the items and other postage options.
Well the maths might work if I research it. It's certainly not going to magically appear.0 -
For what it's worth and despite the sound advice of others, I don't think you have got any problems starting your empire. Simply because you will not have one, nor a shop.
You have no capital of your own to invest, no one else will invest in someone who has not tangible assets or cash to contribute.
Come to me and tell me your idea is the next big thing, the first question I would ask is how much of your money are you putting up? If you say none, you clearly have operated in the wrong circles or have had the usual trick played on you by friends and family who never tells the the truth for fear of offence. I would ask, why do you think I will risk my money when you cannot?
As for retail against e-tail, take a look at M & S results today, 35% of their sales were online and saved their year0 -
You all wanna know how this thread started?
I thought "hey I'd like to sell them items."
Then I thought "I wonder how easy it would be to get a shop."
"Hmm, I'd have to get some sort of business grant because I haven't got enough money to get a shop."
*Came to these forums after a quick look online* "Hmm, these people would probably know if I could get any grants for something like that."
*Wrote out question and posted*
During this thread I have:
Checked a few wholesalers
Looked up the selling and buying price of one or two items
Looked up the postage costs
That was a few days ago.
Do you seriously think I could possibly have a full proof business plan after that? Do you really think that them few things are enough research to build an entire business on? Do you think I'm really going to rush out and spend money I don't have on hundreds of items and a shop?
No. We all know that's not the case.
I've said it all before - I am still looking into everything. There's still a lot of things I could research.
Ok, there are no grants. Got it.
I can't get a loan - I assumed as much.
I have basically no money. Got it, no shop, but I could afford to buy a few things and build up slowly with the right selling platform.
I know online would be best and with more research that may be possible and I can build the business up from there. The chances of finding the perfect wholesaler after looking at just a few is not likely and there's a number of different couriers to look into.
It may or may not work, but it doesn't hurt to do more research. If not for this it may help with something else.
I get that none of you think it'll work despite the fact you don't know some key points and it doesn't bother me at all that you think that.
So can we just stop going around in circles now? Thread answered, some helpful comments have been made, no more detail will be given on the items and you've all concluded that I can't get a shop, shouldn't get a shop and my business won't work.0
