Are Equifax talking rubbish?

Hi all,
I went bankrupt 6 years ago and have defaults on my credit report relating to my bankruptcy. The 6 years have past and Experian and Call Credit both updated the next day after the 6 years. My files look great now, well apart from Equifax.
Funnily enough Equifax removed my bankruptcy a few weeks early but they have not removed my old accounts showing these defaults. I have been chasing them since the weekend to get them removed.
Anway today I lost my temper with them! Told by a lady there that they would not remove these defaults until the lenders update and tell them so! Are they being serious?!
So how come Experian and Call Credit have?!
My old lenders updated them with all the accounts being settled and making sure the default dates matched my bankruptcy so why would lenders need to update them?!!!!
I am furious.

Hard to get a straight answer out of equifax on this subject.
But defaults on equifax tend not to be removed until a couple of weeks after the 6 year anniversary of the default date.
They will drop off though, just a little late.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
shes not talking rubbish in the sense that, a credit agency CANT remove anything without the lender telling them too, its the lenders fault in principle, unless equifax's systems just take longer to update?
but yeh, technically its down to the lenders, best thing to do would be to write to them, if they respond saying they have updated everything, forward whatever they write to equifax0 -
The other two credit files are fine so I am just taking it that Equifax are doing it at snails pace.0

presumably you are now looking at rebuilding your credit history with some positive lending. (borrowing and immediately repaying) to prove that you can.
I started off with a £300 vanquis card after about 5/6 years of being bankrupt and now have around £7k available credit.. It shigh APR but I'm hoping that'll change shortly as my last two defaults come off in about 6 weeks.0 -
Equifax are a nightmare, they always update late. It has nothing to do with the lenders not updaing their records, that is all done. It's Equifax's systems taking their time to update.0
