PPI Redress

I’ve recently (March) had my PPI claim accepted byBarclays for a masterloan I had in 1998. They sent me a letter saying thatbecause it was so long ago they could only offer £500 as a goodwill gesture asthey had no further information to work out the correct amount. Since theinitial goodwill offer, I have found the original loan agreement, got copies ofbank statements and also the PPI policy document from Barclays Dublin which Ihave sent to them to work out the correct figure. After contacting them to seeif they had made any progress, Barclays informed me that because I hadrequested the redress figure be recalculated that there is no longer anyobligation to provide me with a date for this to be done. Basically, they couldtake as long as they liked. Is this correct or do they have to stick to somekind of timetable?
