I understand exactly what you are saying and it would be very hard to prove that happened unless you take a screenshot of every credit application you make. I wonder how those who were successful in their PPI claims proved it?

I hope that those that got caught out by this practice do get re-numeration back at least because it was definitely wrong and not very ethical.

Typically, they have stronger complaint reasons. Reasons that are provable (ineligibility for example) or a technical failing in how it was set up (single premium instead of monthly) or just getting lucky with auto payout.

I have other reasons other than the tick box, I wouldn't complain on that alone seeing how hard it is to prove but can I ask why a single premium is seen as being bad?
I have 2 Egg loans which a decision hasn't been made on yet but I'm not sure what the issue with "front loading" is.

Becuase they lend you the money to pay for the PPI then they charge you interest on it. Even if you cancel it immediately before the period is up, the interest will stay on the loan. Also depending ont he legnth of the laon, it may not cover you for the whole term.
If you consolidate the loan with anothe rone, you will get a part refund of the PPI but the interest will roll over onto the next loan.
