Advice removing quilting lines

I've been hand quilting a quilt where I've marked the pattern with pink chalk from Clover. I now have a problem - how do I remove the pattern lines? I've tried rubbing with a fabric eraser but to no avail.
I can't believe I've spent all this time and effort for it to be marred by these lines.:(

I hope someone can please help

ca55ie I do feel for you. I hate it when chalk lines wont brush off..do not apply heat! ironing (or a hot dryer) can certainly set it so it never comes out---unless it specifically says to remove with an iron-
normally for chalk you can use a brush type eraser- or a magic eraser- i've used a damp cloth- when the quilt is complete- you can wash it- just check and make sure the marks are all gone before putting into a dryer.

I have now bought some new marking pens made by Pilot FriXion, and it works, the marks come off with friction, but again do not iron it before removing the marks.

I hope the magic eraser works, I have one bought at one of the discount shops and when all else fails I use this when sewing, embroidering or quilting.

Please keep us posted on how you have resolved the problem.

Have family visiting for a week so will wait til they've all gone before I try to sort it out - keep stress to the minimum :rotfl:

I would love to go the quilt festival, I am afraid if I went I would spend all the money I have been saving for my trip to Australia to see my grand children and children..

The pens cost £2,99 each and come in red, black and blue. Y9u might get them cheaper at the NEC. Now I am thinking about it,m I need a roll of wadding..hmmmm.....
  • I love the friction pens, use them for embroidery. Pilot do make one that you just iron off and that one works as well.
