Windows Media v.10....probs!!!

Trying to listen to Martin's Witterings *ahem* Mutterings, (streamed).....aaargh :eek: ....all I get is a message to say 'Reached end of file' with no sign of a beginning or a middle or an end!

Thought I'd try installing WM again so I went to Add/Remove progs, (XPHome) to uninstall the existing one but it would only let me roll back to the previous version on the computer and I wanted to remove it completely and do a fresh install.

Anyway, left things as they were and installed WM again thinking it must install over the old version (it was v.10 tho). Same thing still happens, get same 'reached end of file' message. The error message code is 80070026.

If I try to listen using the downloaded mutterings - that doesn't work either...either get message 'file has an extension that is not recognised by WMP' or one about missing codec!

This is soooo frustrating...strange thing is the first couple of Mutterings played/streamed like a dream!

Can anyone help please?????? Pref in words of one syllable!

you could try a search on microsoft.com for your error code
but chances are you could do with the correct codec for WM .
Again goto microsoft.com and do a search for codec's and see what there is to download.

Or

download real player and use that instead
