Dishwasher not cleaning properly

Hello everyone,

I moved into my rented flat about a month ago and I've been having a problem with the dishwasher.

I leaves the stuff (especially on the top rack) caked in a reddish crusty residue!

Can anyone advise me what might be wrong? I've never had a dishwasher before, apart from at my parents house but that always worked!

Have topped up the rinse aid and salt.

Thanks!

Check the holes in the rotating arms are clean and clear. Try one of the dishwasher cleaners on the hottest settings, if that doesn't work get the landlord to fix the problem

And check / clean the filter in the bottom of the dishwasher. It should come out by turning it anti-clockwise. Make sure it goes back in properly.

You can buy dishwasher cleaners - we run one through every few months and find it helps.
