I can get the Google home page today but am unable to sign into gmail and keep getting "this page cannot be displayed". This is the same for the comments on all Bloggers too. Hotmail is also the same when trying to sign in. The home page is there but unable to sign in.

Still working for me. So what happened when you deleted your temp internet files as PaulK suggested?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

...used ccleaner, as i always do. made no difference. this has *never* happened to me (or google!) before. no viruses but ran virus check in any case. really really bizarre. is this what they meant by google big brother - denying only myself access to Google news??!! thanks for your help - still open to any suggestions

Which browser and OS are you using? Have you tried a different browser?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

update: have just rolled back my pc using system restore to a date from last week and google news is up and running. really really bizarre. perhaps it WAS a virus. i am flummoxed on this one. a virus denying me Google News??? having said that, i should point that when i used google search for anything i kept getting a hit for 'monsternet.com', even if the search did not even begin with M!! so yes, possible it was a virus. thanks for your help

If you are getting strange search results such as that then your browser was hijacked. Maybe you are best going through the malware removal guide anyway and posting a hijack this log."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
