Vista - viewing photos on CD

Hello there, anyone help me with this?
Just got a new system with Vista Basic package on, and have tried to view some of my photos held on a CD. These photos were saved from my old computer system, Windows XP Professional I think,
anyways ... I put the disc in the slot and waited, and nothing happened. I went to Control Panel, and it was showing the photo disc as though it was a music disc ... so what should I do now? With Windows Media Viewer I just popped it in and away we went ...

Is there any place on the web that takes you through the steps, like a tutorial for Vista Basic?

Help!
:hello:  please play nicely children !
