Hello everyone,
So, I bought an apartment about two months ago in London, having previously been renting in another part of London. My water supplier is Thames Water. One of the things I've noticed is just how hard the water appears to be in my new place (south London) in comparison to where I was previously (north London). The kitchen sink, for example, is covered in a white residue immediately after I rinse a glass or such like.
Aside from constantly cleaning, is there anything (relatively cheap) that I can do to counter the problem? Having just kitted the flat out, I don't have a vast budget to remedy the problem. As you can probably tell, I'm new to home ownership so not familiar in dealing with things like limescale.
Thanks!

Welcome to my world. I have Thames water as well and its very hard water. Most of my neighbours have water softeners and they help a lot.
Me, i use white vinegar and water in a empty spray bottle diluted. The kettle i boil up diluted vinegar again.Shower i keep clear by always using a shower squeegee http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=shower++squeegees&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Ashower++squeegees&!!!!!donations09-20
If your kitchen sink is really bad buy kitchen descaler then keep on top of it with white vinegar0
