If you're in the north check out http://www.playexpo.net/ we went 2011 when it was in Blackpool and had a fab time. Well worth it if you like your retro along with some newer stuff.

I went to Eurogamer 2010 and didn't get many freebies (think I got a Dead Rising syring clicky pen), but I did get to play loads of games There were a few queues, but none were longer than 15 minutes and I definitely got my fill in a day. Would really recommend it.

Last year my other half and eldest son got tshirts, mini figures and some really nice posters. This year they are going for 4 days so hopefully they will get even more
There were definitely more freebies at gamefest though.

Well if you check the twitter feeds it appears that a lot of freebies will be on offer. For example if you preorder castlevania lords of shadow 2 with Game at the event you will get a free limited edition t-shirt.

Lots of interesting Indie titles on display. There is a game called Volume by Mike Bithell which is in the same vain of Metal gear. Lots of stealth involved. Also a crazy indie game called Fist of Awesome... Lumberjacks vs bears!

Also Xbox Vice president Phil Harrison will present an exclusive development session at 12pm on Thursday 26th Sept and also Bethesda will be hosting a developer session for The Evil Within on Thursday 26th September at 5pm. As I am lucky to have a ticket for Thursday I will be in line to check these out!

I'm heading down on the friday and the main attraction for me is the Oculus Rift.

I suspect half of the games on the show floor will be COD clones (you're a dude running about in a FPS world) - that was the case last year. The indie section was cool though and I'll definitely check that out.
