Old student funding and new student funding

Hiya,
Bf and I are thinking of moving on to the next stage and living together.
He is going into his 3rd year at uni so is on the old system of funding, where as I will be going into the new funding.
I can only find information on the rates of grants and loans for the coming year but I am not sure whether the amounts are for the new funding only or if both sets of students will get these amounts?

That should give you the answer you need, there's a link for new student and continuing students. I think how the amount you receive in loans/grants is judged is the same in the old type + new type of loan. This is decided by the Student Loan Company depending mainly on how much your parents earn.
Obviously the tuition fees for you will be ~£9000 per year while your bfs will be ~£3000.
The interest on your loan is about 6% but you won't have to pay it back until you're earning over £21,000. The interest on your bfs loan is 1.5% but he'll have to pay it back when he's earning over £15,000.
I hope what I said answers your question, there's more info about the new type loans here as well:

Thank you
I did have a look and it was helpful as a rough idea, but am struggling to find the rates of special support grant and as he will be going int his 3rd year I think he gets slightly less funding over the year anyway. I think we will just have to wait and see what student finance send say in an entitlement letter.
I wish it wasn't so complicated haha!0 -
Out of interest, what is your reason for applying for the special support grant? Not many people are entitled to it.0

as a student couple you can claim the special support grant if there is a child, which there is. I am sure that is one of the eligibility criteria.0

Looks fine to me, so should be SSG of £3080.0
