I recently made a claim for repayment of PPI. My request was denied - they claim the account was opened via telephone (which is true) but they are saying that I requested it (untrue ) They claim they had many proceedures in place to ensure the insurance was not mis-sold and that staff would be penalised should they have done so without explicit consent.

Hi, unless you have some solid proof to back up your complaint which proves you did not request this PPI then I think you may struggle with this. Was this their final response as if you are still not happy you could refer to FOS however this will involve a long wait for you with possbly the same outcome/decision. Sorry if I am wrong or if anyone has any other suggestions I am sure they will let you know.0

No, it's a "hearsay" complaint for which the OP can provide no evidence. If the complaint is referred to FOS, it will be with them for eighteen months with no guarantee of a response favourable to the OP.if you are still not happy you could refer to FOS however this will involve a long wait for you with possbly the same outcome/decision.
