So easy to have a parking ticket withdrawn?!

I recently had a disabled parking badge displayed wrong side up - so the photo card and council details could be seen and not the badge number etc,
The (I thought) over zealous private company in operation gave me a ticket, I wrote one very ranty email to them bout how disgusted I was because there was obviously a valid permit displayed and cctv (I happened to be right under neath it) would show getting out the car/using a wheelchair etc..and it was a simple mistake to show it wrong way up.
The ticket was withdrawn.
WELL!! it's only now - a month or so later, I've noticed the parking pass is actually about a year out of date! They were utterly right to give me the ticket and ..I should have paid it.
Now obviously being a MSE i'm not going to contact them and offer to pay - I was legitimate in my need/use of the space (I am sorting out updating the pass for future use).
The company should have responded telling me why they issued the ticket and why it should have been paid - but instead just withdrew it. Which made me wonder just how easy it was to get out of paying a ticket by writing a ranty email.

Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

Being an MSE regular we'd have thought you would have researched this better. Of course they were not right; of course you must NEVER pay a fake PCN.
As already said, there's nothing about Blue Badges or any kind of permits being needed, in the Equality Act 2010 (the legislation which protects against discrimination in all forms and provides for 'reasonable adjustments' such as disabled bays). A disabled person who needs it can use a 'reasonable adjustment' unharassed; even if their dog has chewed up their Blue Badge or even if they don't have one.
The scammers cancelled the fake PCN because you ranted and said you were disabled and they could see the matter wasn't going anywhere.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
