NHS Exemption Thresholds....

I have been given a link / print off of the NHS Exemption threshold figures from my welfare officer

Tax Credits are claiming it is £15, 276

But on the link

w*w.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/tcmanual/TCM0202080.htm

that all staff are supposed to use it states

2003-2004 - £14,200
2004-2005 - £14,600
2005-2006 - £15,050
2006-2007 - £15,050
2007-2008 - £15,050
2008-2009 - £15,050
2009-2010 - £15,276
2010-2011 - £15,276
2011-2012 - £15,276
2012-2013 - £15,860
2013-2014 - £15,910

What is the correct figure for 2013-2014?

    is it £15,910?

Yea thats what they told me but after reading the above document it states the higher figure

on further research looks like the threshold was amended on the 20th june 2013
so all the applications before this will have been processed at the old rate?

Recent updates to the Tax Credits Manual
Below are details of the amendments that were published on 20 June 2013 (see the update index for all updates)

If you look at this link it will tell you the figures and it will also tell you what to do if you haven't received your certificate.

You will have to complete a HC1 form (available from your GP surgery) or have you applied for working tax credit this may make you entitled to an exemption card.
Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)
  • Hi,
Im trying to figure out if I will be entitled to a Exemption Card for my prescriptions this year when I give my P60 figures for Working Tax Credits etc.
Does anyone know what the new figure is please?

    Thanks

Looks like £15,276 if you want to believe the link above is correct. I'm not sure how one would go about proving it if the people supposedly in the know are telling us it's £15,276.
What happens if it's a single person.? Do they get this amount, and if a couple is it double? So complicated!

I would imagine it won't change this year. The amount quoted is the limit for a household regardless if it's single or joint.

Thanks BB. Looks like we're out of luck. Joint income is just short of £17000. Have to keep the dentists happy, lol.
