Will banks advise on a loan based on credit report rather than a full check

Hi all,

Anyone know if its possible to take a copy of your credit report to a financial institution and get them to look it over and make an assessment of your affairs to check eligibility for a loan...before they put it on the system and cause a permanent scar on your file?

If that makes sense?

No its not. Or at least not to get a reliable indication.

Staff in branch would not be capable of such an assessment.

Your best option would be to consider applying for a loan with one of the few places that does a soft search on your file (such as nationwide).
