Car Insurance No Claims for Named Driver?

Hi

My husband and I have just bought a second car and are about to insure it. At the moment my husband drives as a named driver on my insurance as we only had the one car that we used between us. We have decided to insure the new car in my husbands name, but I'm unsure what to put on the forms when it asks about his no claims. I'm pretty sure he earns no claims through being insured on my policy (with Direct Line) but when it asks that on the form do I put how many years he's been insured on my policy? Maybe a bit of a silly question, but just a bit confused

He has nil ncd, so you put a 0

Dl do give named drivers ncd to use on a dl policy

He needs to contact them directly to get it.

Yes for the purpose of a comparison site search you shouldn't put in any no claims bonus as Quentin said - the No Claims Bonus that Direct Line offer to named drivers is only any good if you take out a new policy with Direct Line.

Even if you contact them about it it's still worth doing a general comparison search as you could find a better value quote from another insurer without any no claims - worth checking anyway.
