Please advice regarding our faulty Ford Fiesta
Good Morning Folks
My wife took our 2002 Ford fiesta for an MOT check the other day. Although it passed, the advisory notes said :
Nearside front (rear bush) suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement.
Offside front (rear bush) suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement.
Could someone please be kind enough to explain what these notes mean, how much it would cost to get it repaired/replaced, and if it dangerous to drive without having them repaired/replaced.
Thanks in advance for your responses.

If it was dangerous your car wouldn't have passed the MOT.
The parts are worn but are not currently causing a problem, if you have a friendly local garage then get them changed, shouldn't cost much.0 -
It's a common problem on them.
Parts are £20 total, but labour will be alot more.
Our's had that advisirory for about 3 years, till I changed them last week. They didn't really need changing then!0 -
Basically, they'll need replacing at some point, but not yet particularly.
Most places will change the whole wishbone as it has to come off anyway to replace the bush, and the labour involved in changing the rear bushes would probably outweigh the cost of a new wishbone, and give you the benefit of new inner bushes and ball joints.
The car will need its tracking adjusting once the wishbones have been refitted.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -
