Hi All,
I currently drive a Vauxhall Vectra 2 litre, 2004 - I've had it for a while and it's been a good little car but I now feel the time is right for a change. This car did about 700 miles to the tank and the tank held 61 litres.
I'm looking for something fresher, probably staying in the two litre range as I require it to pull a 6f x 4f trailer. I'm not sure if anything can beat the fuel efficiency of my existing car and I certainly want remain with diesel.
What do people recommend? Budget would be between 2-3k.
Thanks

Rinse and repeat with a newer model?
They don't seem to hold their prices so a bargain could be had, plus if you buy before selling if your tyres or any other parts are better you can have a swap round.
Better the devil you know and all that.0 -

That had crossed my mind, however one thing I did find with my Vectra was that it was sore on parts, I know the guy before me did not take care of it so it may not have been the car's fault.0 -
If you want to stay VX then maybe a Signum, but that would be a 1.9cdti which isn't as reliable as the dti you have.
Mondeo?
For that budget I would be looking at a Skoda Octavia diesel, decent cars and will see over 50mpg similar to what your Vectra gets.

You probably had the last good one, they started making absolute dogs of cars soon after.
For reliability, look what taxi drivers are running, they dont do repairs and as said above the Skoda is is choice for people who need minimal running costs.Be happy...;)0 -
Mine is starting to give a few problems as of late and the car has just clocked up too many miles.0

How about this bad boy? Dealer said he would go to £3500.
