How early is too early to book?

we're looking at booking a 2 week holiday to Cyprus for august 2014. we're looking so early because we're getting married whilst we're there. we'll be bookinf for 2 adults and 3 children. we've looked at all the main tour operators and there doesn't seem to be much available, what is available is really expensive. some of them say hurry only 1 room left. how is this the case so far in advance? have they not released all the holidays yet? do they put the more expensive ones out first? they all advertise early booking discounts/free child places but they don't seem to be applied to anything. are we looking too early?
many thanks

Where in Cyprus and what kind of accommodation are you looking for?0

we're going to protaras. ideally we'd like to stay in proraras rather than the outskirts. we're fairly open about the accommodation, we're willing to look at anything, although I do like a big pool.0

The Tripadvisor Cyprus forum is a good source of info...

With regard to booking, in my opinion, you would probably be better off waiting a month or so and looking again.0 -
thanks for that0

Bump.
I'd like to know this too. Is there any pattern in regard to prices going down or up massively a year or so beforehand? Looking to book for September 2014.0 -
full allocation should be on sale by the end of this month. Because you are getting married there, i would suggest booking asap to get the accomodation and location you want. Cyprus is probably the top Med destination for weddings'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0

Thomas cook next edition brochures go on sale 25th july, these at the moment are only preview brochures so you would expect all hotels to be available then.0

The best time IMHO is September or October, quiet times for travel agents and with them on commission you can probably get a reasonable price. Worse time Boxing day0

no longer true. Booking is now spread throughout the year.'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0
