What can he claim to buy a new washing machine? He dose receive a lot of benefits but the vast amount go's on cares. Is he entitled to anything? Thanks...

If he receives income support he can try claiming for a grant from them. It would be a community care grant he would be after. If he can't get a grant from income support then he may be able to get a crisis loan from them & they would deduct a small amount from his benefit every week/month till it's paid back.

I'm not sure if the Independent Living Fund makes grants for such things, but it's worth asking.

If neither of these avenues are any good then give Freecycle in your area a try as lots of people advertise appliances they no longer need to good homes.

Perhaps somebody else here will have some more info to offer too.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

At the moment i can only think of: Social Fund, Crisis Loan or a Budgeting loan from the DWP.

If he has to spend a lot on care, he may be eligible for help from the Independent Living Fund:

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)
