Help please - Activesync and Windows 2000 Screensaver causing error

Hopefully someone out there can help me, as Microsoft's Knowledge Base can't.My work PC has (again) started giving me several error boxes from Activesync whenever the Windows 2000 screensaver kicks in, it is something like "WCESCOMM : Application failed to initialise", I can't remember exact wording .
As it is my work PC I can't change the screensaver settings, but I have managed to solve this problem before - any ideas? It is an irritation rather than a real problem.
Any help gratefully received, and thanks in advance to anyone who I don't remember to thank personally.

If you just put this in to Google.. Activesync and Windows 2000 Screensaver there are a lot of answers for you.
I had big problems with Activesync turned out to be my Sygate firewall stopping it running .0
