I'm sure this must be a common task, but I've looked in the Apple support and done general online help searches and can't find anything....
Is there a way of viewing on my computer all the songs on my ipod? I can view everything in my itunes library, but I do not have everything in itunes actually on my ipod.
my ipod 4gb is getting full - how do you delete individual tracks/albums - when I uncheck 'manually manage music', itunes says that all my music will be erased. All ideas appreciated!

To see what's on your Ipod, go to Itunes and click the little arrow on the left of the Ipod's name. It should drop down a list (In the screenshot clicking 'Music' will show the music that's on the IPod).
The best way to manage an Ipod smaller than your Itunes library is to create a playlist/playlists with all the songs you want in your Ipod and then go to the settings and tell it to sync only that list.
(In the Ipod settings on Itunes, click the Music tab and tick "selected playlists"0 -
Thank you - the way itunes window displays meant that the arrow wasn't visible - what a revelation! I will now get to work on that playlist, should only take me a couple of years to decide which tracks I want!!0

...alternatively you can tick 'Only sync checked items' on Itunes' main Ipod settings page and then untick all the songs you don't want on the Ipod0
