Cyprus end of October?

It's that time of year when I am thinking of half term holiday. Last year we went to Portugal but only got a couple of good days. I have found a reasonable priced holiday for Protaras . I know nothing about Cyprus. Is it very expensive (we will be self catering) is it warm, will it be closing for the winter. Are there nicer resorts etc. Any opinions would be appreciated. I know places like Canaries are more popular at that time of year but just too expensive. Thanks in advance

Protaras is lovely. We stayed next to Fig Tree Bay. Weather in Oct has always been lovely the 4 times we have been, although who can guarantee the weather?
    Ayia Napa is great too.
Prices wise, you can eat out for a tenner no problem

We've done October half term in Cyprus twice. Weather has always been good - we've had showery days, but nothing to bad. One year there was storms and flooding on other parts of the island.
Eating out wasn't to pricey, but we spent a lot of time BBQing.

It will be cooler by October and therefore more manageable, but still beautiful and sunny. From memory, October is when they have the wine festivals, very worthwhile going to those, great fun!

25 - 30 degrees the Odd rain shower, with blue skies an hour afterwards .
