Verified by Visa for Barclays

Hi. I am a barclays current account holder and am not registered for Verified by Visa. The window normally comes up after making purchases online but just disappears without me entering anything.
Today, on the third time I used by card, it asked me three security questions - It gave four answers and asked which was my address, same for sort code, and then it give my brothers name and asked what age group he was in.
This made me suss as I should not have any financial ties to my brother considering he has lived out of the UK for 20 years. I am worried in case this was somehow fraudulent or phishing.
Can anyone clarify if this sounds genuine.

What was the full website address?
Was it secure?
Once you click the pad lock or view the page information, what does it say? For example, if you visit Paypal.com, it'll say "Paypal, Inc (US)" in green at the start of the address bar.0 -
I didn't look to be honest. I was on Justeat website at the time and have never had any problems before.0

Probably easier to just register using your banks preferred method, then VbV should only ever ask for characters from the password you setup.0

Sound normal.
You should have set up VbV when you used the card the 1st time.
If you have any worries just ring your card peovider and get htem to reset VbV for you.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
What I like about the VbV scheme is the personal message you can set so that you know you are on the pucker site - I change mine every so often - just adds a layer of security.0

I am with Natwest if I login to https://www.natwestsecure.com i can change my profile, and that message and see details of all transactions verified online - I would imagine most banks have a similar portal.Nice one, where do you change this?0 -

I also experienced this for the first time when I was logging onto the local council's website to pay my council tax. It gave me my sister's name and asked which age group she belonged to, not sure how they got her name though.0 -
Same thing happened to me as well, asking my brothers age group
The site was genuine, as it was paiyng of my Barclaycard
had a phone call the next day from barclays about the additional security, asking me to confirm i made the transactions0
