Appeal rejected council parking ticket advice

Hi looking for some advice. Got a ticket for parking in a restricted area during prescribed hours from Edinburgh council. Now when Parkin I did actually look around to try and confirm I was parking within allowed hours, right next to my car was a sign put up prohibiting parking the week before, so I discounted this one, down the bottom of the avenue there was another sign prohibiting parking that day and the next, but it has been modified to disclude the day I was parking. Although I found this odd there was no restrictions for that day as far as I could see! So when I got a ticket I appealed it on grounds there was an old sign and a doctored sign and both were contraindicated to my parking that day!

They refused appeal on grounds there was a single yellow line and a third sign I had missed on entry to the 'zone' which prohibits parking mon-sat except loading and unloading. I realise overall there was an offence committed but on the grounds old signage had been left up and another sign doctored to include then disclude the day I was Parking I find it all very unfair would the fact there was confusing altered signs and old signage up be ground of appeal and be worth going through to the independent adjudicator? I did see the yellow line but as alot of the area the yellow line only applies mon-fri I believed this to be the case. Rather annoying as I had actually gone out my way to check all the available signs just somehow missed the one at the beginning of the 'zone'

Take yourself straight over to Pepipoo who have dedicated experts on the subject of local authority tickets. You will have to sign up for the forum and be prepared to post copies of your PCN and any associated paperwork - suitably anonymised (scanned in and "washed" of personal details and any identifying details).
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

The CPZ is a nice little Scam for this area.
pepipoo might spot a mistake, however it does appear to be like a ship with nobody at the wheel lately, many post go unanswered.
    Be happy...;)

The CPZ is a major gotcha and trumps the local signage - you can either take the discounted fine, or appeal to the adjudicator - but it remains a risk that they will not agree and you are left with the full charge to pay.

I found myself in the same situation last year but delayed taking my appeal so had it thrown out and ended paying £130.00 for a £70.00 fine as the council got a court order then got Equita Certified Bailiffs onto me. I started to pay the fine online but still the bailiffs came and eventually wanted over £300.00 from me. I eventually went to my MP and between us we managed to get the bailiffs to back off and they "kindly decided to waive their fees". I am now asking the council for evidence of the parking restriction because my first arguement was it was concealed between trees and then I discovered it had been moved forward from the trees but still they upheld my fine. They reckon the single yellow line should have been warning enough. Well there were other cars parked there both in front and behind of me. My advice would be to pay the fine in whole or monthly then carry on with your investigations. Good luck. :j
