Bought a dishwasher which doesn't have a feature which it claimed

Options
Hi,

So, I bought a dishwasher from AppliancesOnline

We wanted one that would last us a while and something that was of good quality - For this reason we deiced on a Bosch

When trying to decide which one to buy, the one we went for ticked al the boxes;- It all the modern features, eco friendly and lots of useful programs. One of the major features we wanted was "half load" as you're not always going to have a full load. The specs on the AppliancesOnline clearly stated this was one of the features it had

Anyway, the unit arrived yesterday and we had it installed (we paid £19 for them to do it). It was only after they'd left I noticed there was no "half load" button on the unit. I read the manual and it said IF the unit you have has the feature it will be in a certain place....we don't have the button where they say (or anywhere else)

I then Googled the model again and checked other websites and most of them all say the one we bought does indeed have the feature

I then went to Bosch's website to check the specs, and as I thought, it does NOT have the feature

I called AppliancesOnline and they said the specs they put up come direct from Bosch (which must be why other sites have the wrong info too). They're going to confirm with Bosch next week and then I can either decide if I want to keep it of get a refund

Could I ask for some sort of compensation, as clearly I am not getting what I paid for?

Other problem I have is that I still want it regardless now as the other features it has still make it better than the models that are not in the Logixx range (bosch's premium range)

Your best bet would be to wait until Applianceonline contact you again and if/when they offer you a refund, state that you hope this covers all of the delivery and installation costs.
Once they have confirmed that this is the case, ask them if they would consider a partial refund if you were to keep the washer, and if so, how much.
Once they realise that they will have to pay for the initial delivery, fitting and collection of the appliance, they may feel that a partial refund is a good idea.

You should see if you can find the approximate price for a Bosch dishwasher without the 1/2 load feature, and use this figure as a starting price for your negotiations.

I think I'd still want one with the half load feature!

They've already offered you a return and refund, so you'll now need to negotiate!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I'm not sure expecting compensation is appropriate as it would appear to be an honest mistake, due to an error in information previously supplied by Bosch.

The fact that you're to be given the option of keeping it or having a refund shows that the retailer is trying to do what they can to keep you happy. Perhaps if you are going to keep it you can ask for a refund of the fitting charge as they would need to send somebody out to disconnect it if you did want to return it.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

That's exactly what i'm after to be fair. I don't expect lots of money off or anything, just a simple good will gesture/refund of the install would do me just fine
