Chartered Accountants spends a lot of their training learning about large Company accounts and Company Law. Somebody who trains with the AAT - for instance, doesn't have such intensive study, but upon qualifying can be Licensed to practice in certain fields - based on their experience and knowledge. They are also required - like Chartered accountants to maintain these skills through continuing professional development. :T
You should always check the details of your accountants license and profesional indemnity insurance. Just because they call thenselves an accountant doesn't mean they are one!!:eek:
Many people without university education and degrees use AAT as a stepping stone to chartered accountancy.
