Ceiling height

I've just bought a new house and the ceiling heights in the dining and living rooms are different, one being 8' something, the other being 10' something. Is it likely that there's a false ceiling in the living room thàt can be taken out? It used to be a barbers shop in the front room, so maybe that's something to do with it? Anyone any thoughts?
Thanks
Thanks

Take a look via any light fixtures in the ceiling.0

Just bear in mind that the extra 20% volume at ceiling height will probably add 50% to the cost of heating the room, that my be why it was dropped in the 1st place;);)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Not knowing the property, if there are floors above... are they all at the same level? If so, then yes... you would expect there to be a false/suspended ceiling within the 8' room.0
