Hi
I'm going for a weekend in Bath soon and having looked at the train and bus, I will be better off driving depending on parking. I've looked at the various car parks on line but the charges are for 12 hourly blocks at the most. One or two charge 8am to 8pm.
I'm trying to find out what the cost might be from Friday lunchtime until Sunday late afternoon. Are there any Bath residents that can help me please?

I've not parked for that long in Bath myself but the website says
"Charlotte Street, Manvers Street and Avon Street all offer multiple day tickets at the pay and display machines. This is charged at the 12 hour rate per day and can be purchased in a maximum of 7 days.
Charges apply from 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week including bank holidays, outside of these times parking is free."
The carpark we use when visiting Bath is Charlotte Street, which seems to charge £8.50 for 12 hours, so 3 x 8.50 = £25.50.0 -
Avon Street is a multistorey close to the centre of town, they do long stay. Charlotte St is further out. There are also Park & Rides which are free (you pay £3-odd for the bus) and are open 24h http://visitbath.co.uk/dbimgs/First_Bath_Park&Ride(1).pdf (Many locals use the P&R as it's cheap and well served during shopping/spending hours, however overnight isn't particulary recommended).

Being an old Roman city and the third most touristed city in the country, it's just not cut out for cars - you'll find driving frustrating if you try to take short cuts and counterintuitive to be sure. If you can take the train, the connections to Paddington are every 30 minutes, it takes 90 minutes to get here, and it can be as cheap as £9.50 each way. National Express also serve Bath.0 -
Hi - I live in Bath and Parking is a complete nightmare  If you want to PM me with where you are staying I will try to explain where you can park for free. Otherwise it will cost you. Is there no free Parking where you are staying? It is worth asking. Once you are in the City you do not need to drive. A while back some friends came to Bath and stayed at the YMCA in the city. I let them park on my drive, which is off the main road and I ran them back into the city. Then I picked the drivers up on the Sunday evening and brought them back to mine to pick up their cars. It saved them loads, Very MSE :rotfl:0

Hi, I'm in Bath too! Utter blummin' nightmare to park.
Have a word with where you are staying, they may have a deal, some hotels, B&B's can get temporary on street parking permits, if not, and you won't need the car during the weekend, you are better off dropping your suitcase at your location, driving a couple of miles out, parking, and catching the bus back in or walking.
There are some residential areas that are better than others for leaving your car overnight, and also some areas that have a more frequent bus service.0 -
Thanks Sally and Lizzie. I'm travelling on my own so would rather park close to where I'm staying in the centre. The hotel has no spaces left. I don't mind paying the fees but just wanted to be prepared for the cost 😄0
