I'm with those who say you should just treat yourself every day. I bought some Sanctuary shower foam and body lotion. They cost £10 but I got a free weekend bag with toiletries that I can use a present. They didn't cost me anything as I used a voucher I had won to buy them.
Normally, the "frugal me" would say "save them, they will come in handy for a present for someone" until I recently found myself without any shower gel. Now, taking a shower is a luxury and I smell **wonderful** throughout the day. It spurred me on to clear out my room and I have found all sorts of things that I had been hoarding and am now determined to use before they go off. I still have all the extras that I had for presents but I also treat myself."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

My MIL has got a load of new stuff like towels, tablecloths, tea towels etc which she has never used and yet she has bits of old rag to wipe her hands on in the kitchen and bathroom! It drives me mad.0

That reminds me of a book where a little girl had one straw hat 'for best'. Her mother insisted that she wore a paper bag over her hat on the way to a party... The only time my clothes are 'for best' is if they're dressy.Old-styler, crafter and freebie junkie!Frogga's Amazing Weight Loss Campaign: Member no.20 since 2/9/07 -- lost 10lb

Money~Bunny,
That's also typical of MIL - she doesn't want the settee to get dirty so has a cover over it (old curtain), but then doesn't want the cover to get dirty so has another over the top, then another on top of that, another on top of that until now the settee is about six inches higher than it should be!0 -
I've been trying to stop keeping things 'for best' too, trying to use all the nice smellies in the bathroom instead of looking at them and thinking 'oh yes, i'll treat myself with that special bath bomb when such and such happens....' that special day never arrives and whatever the product was, is now a sloppy mess on the window sill lol.
Same goes for clothes.....
keely.
Your clothes are a sloppy mess on the windowsill?
I know what you mean - I've done that with cosmetics too, and I often can't find things I was saving for a suitable occasion when a suitable occasion actually occurs.0 -
lol- i meant my clothes don't get worn! well i did find a bag that had gone mouldy in my wardrobe-yuk....since had to sort that damp problem out!

Aw Annie?! Do you know what you've just done? I'll be in Sainsbury's today and unable to walk past the Sanctuary products. I'll be tempted to just have one sniff of it and if it's as good as you say I'll covet it until I buy it...
:rotfl: And I've been so good lately!
