6 kWh per day gas usage if anyone is interested

I've been away on holiday and forgot to turn off my gas hot water heater, so in the past 8 days I wasted 48 kWh of gas to keep my tank of hot water hot.:(
Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:

You should be more confident in how interesting this is. It shouldn't be here, it should be on Twitter.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

Interesting,Now Retired.... I normally switch off the gas in the summer, but this time the hot water is on for 10min am and 10 mins evening. and uses 35kwh per week.

I also switch the gas off in the summer. I have an electric shower so don't need to heat the water cylinder as it would only be used for hand washing

A pilot light alone could easily burn 25kWh per week.

... but it sounds like your boiler doesn't have one.

Yes you right Wyth..got sums wrong. Have a pilot and use estimated 50kwh p.w. Figures from a previous week show 'pilot only' using 27kwh.

My pilot light uses 3 kWh per day, that isn't included in the 6 kWh per day just to keep the water hot.
