This is to help you determine the market value of the vehicle you want to buy. The valuation, where available, is based on the vehicle being in an average condition for its age, that you are buying the vehicle from a dealer and the mileage supplied by you. If you have not provided a mileage, it is estimated to be the equivalent to 10,000 miles per year. The valuation provided indicates the market value of your chosen model, not the actual vehicle being checked and therefore may vary. If no valuation is provided it is because we do not currently hold this data. HPI Valuations are provided by CAP. For further information see FAQ

I would be phoning the number above to see if you can squeeze any information, if you cannot, then ask the owner to speak to them after you have made the call (so you know they are talking to the Finance Company, & then speak to them afterwards so you know that the owner has not hung up)
There should be a letter available from the Finance Co. detailing a settlement figure to the owner & the owner should be able to produce a letter/fax that the Finance Company have no further interest in the vehicle.
Otherwise, all looks pretty normal0 -

Good advice, never take the sellers word. Call the finance company and ask them to confirm the outstanding fianc! has been settled and ask them to send you confirmation.
It can take a a short while for car checks to be updates with the latest info. I did a car registration check and it showed a car was on finance. I spoke to the people who did the check and they contacted the finance company for me to confirm it had been paid in full.0 -
