Charitable grants for disabled

Have you asked your local council about a Disabled Facilities Grant? This is means tested, but in our case, the DFG paid for the majority of a small extension with wetroom. The water pressure is low, so there is a pump that cost an additional £300 (this was about ten years ago), and as this was essential, the DFG was increased to pay for this as well. Also, everything has to be passed by building inspectors, so you have the assurance that if there is anything not done correctly, it will be put rioght.
Other than that, google 'disabled grants + name of town where you live' and read the criteria for grants tghat come up.
If you have a carer, the local carer's centre may be able to help as well.0 -
