See who is insured on a car

Hi,
My partner is convinced that her ex husband is illegally using her name on his car insurance, as the main driver with him on as a named driver, to bring his premiums down (that's how it always was when they were together as she has 18+ years no claims). We know that he didn't bother to change the address for the car registration because a car tax reminder just arrived. Is there any way of finding out if she is named on the insurance?
Thanks

I'm really not sure, I just know that a car must be insured to the address where it is kept I'm also guessing the ex hasn't changed the address on their driving lience, also a big no no.
Hopefully someone can point you in the right direction, but if not maybe give the DVLA a ring and say someone has a car registered to your address as she would also be able to give them the number plate, if she can find out where he is living that would also be good.0 -

Assuming she is the policyholder, she can ring the Insurers and enquiry about what is covered.0

If the car gets written off she will get the cheque off the insurers (assuming one is due)Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Not if she is just the main driver.0 -

This is the best route.
If it is reversed and she is just a named driver then technically he doesn't need her permission to add her but will get unstuck if they ever decide to do random checks like asking for a copy of all drivers licenses.
On the basis they were married 18 years they evidently arent spring chickens, and especially since the new gender laws, so unless he has a terrible history and hers is perfect it wouldnt make the worlds greatest difference to add her0 -
You can get details (at the very least, the name of the insurer) from askmid.com for a small fee.
She can then ring up the insurer and say she's mislaid her documents and wants to clarify the policy details; or alternatively just tell them outright that she didn't buy the policy and that anyone who claims to have done so in her name has done so fraudulently. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

Also total loss claims often require all insured drivers licenses to be sent in \ copies of to confirm all correct..0
