Chipped wash basin - repair possible..?

My father has had a bottle drop out of his bathroom cabinet and chip the inner surface of his wash basin quite badly.

I would have thought that it would be impossible to repair but I see a number of firms are claiming to be able to do just that.

Anyone any experience?

Chipped sink = bloody annoying but he can live with it surely..

So, get a new one, or live with a minor annoyance

Little dot of milliput? There are milliput-alikes which aren't steel grey colour, too. Sticks to anything, waterproof, will seal it well, etc. Oh, and if you don't mind grey, there's 'Epoxy Bonding Putty' for a quid in poundland just now.
