Vauxhall charged me even though fault was not fixed.

I had a problem with my Vauxhall Zafira LPG where it would stall at lights and the engine misfired and was generally sluggish and did not drive right with a very noisy engine.

I gave it in to the vauxhall main dealers and they said they reprogrammed the ECU and put new spark plugs in, and charged me £200.

The fault was not fixed and they said they had to refer me to another branch because they were not qualified to work on LPG. I then paid another £350 to have a new LPG module which seems to have cured the problem.

My question is, was they right to charge me £200 in the first place in which they did not fix the problem - they did tell me at the start that this may or may not fix the problem.

Also warranty company is only paying £210 out of the lot even though it's a very comprehensive warranty.

Can these guys get away with this?

    Typical LPG!

I tried one LPG car and would never consider having another.

They "fixed it" at first then when you took it in again still not working they decided that they were not qualified to work on LPG.... In those circumstances I would most certainly put in a claim for my money back

Did they charge you for fixing it or for n hours work on your car? I suspect the latter.

They just charge me, the first time to reprogram the ECU and do some kind of field remedy with test spark plugs.

Second time the fixed it by replacing a module.
