from my friends email for help...
"I decided to put a password on my home computer so that anyone tempted to have a nosey was prevented from doing so before going away on holiday. "
"The problem is my cannot access my Outlook Express mail as that is all stored on my home computer. I can access incoming mail through ISP, can reply but can't store or look up any old mails stored. I've phoned ISP who tell me it's a localised problem with my own computer, they would not have access to the password and I need to call a technician to unblock the password for me. Have you any idea how I can sort it?"thanks to everyone who has thanked me!0 -
So, after all, they need to recover a Personality (Identity) password?0

There are plenty of programs around to recover that kind of password, with negative side being that you have to pay for them. However, the positive side is that most of them have trial versions, which normally would allow you to recover first two (three) letters of the password; in most cases that would be sufficient to remember it.
As an example - try here0 -

I'm still confused.
Can your friend get access to the PC at all? When your friend turns on the PC, they get a log on screen asking for a password and they don't know it? Or is it the BIOS that has a password?
And is this Outlook - or Outlook Express?Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
