No this isn't right, while it is advised to use the same oil you can mix them, the only time you might experience problems is when you are use different oils on a very regular basis, or if your car has high mileage above about 60,000 miles and has never been flushed.
So firstly it doesn't necessarily need to be flushed out, flushing doesn't take days at all, at a garage it shouldn't cost more than about £90, but you can do it yourself fairly cheaply, you can find a good online guide, or you can buy a guide for £20 at Halfords which will also tell you exactly what to buy, what quantities to use, how to do it etc.0 -
should never put 20/50 mineral oil in a car even to top up tempting though as its cheap and as the saying goes cheap and nasty.
this is where engine flush should be used, it doesnt take 3 days (who told you that a garage?), there are guides on how to flush the oil on utube, youll need a tin of engine flush commonly wynns engine flush is widely used and good product.
changing the oil mayaswell get the filter changed aswell and refill with spec oil.0 -

They mixed the oil or did they misfuel the car. Put petrol in a diesel car or the opposite?
Or something like a turbo has failed and the engine oil has been consumed by the engine?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
its a 1.8 tdci, we mixed oil not petrol0
