Quick poll, would you contact buyer to ask for these?

Options
We completed the sale of our old house yesterday.

Realised at night time had left some small pictures by mistake. We had agreed to leave a large amount of furniture but specifically not the pictures. These are not at all valuable but do have sentimental value.

Should we contact estate agent to ask if they'll get in touch with buyer for us to try and get them back?

Appreciate they may not want to or indeed buyer might ignore the request.

    Yeah. Worth asking direct now.
They may not want the pictures.
    Wouldn't bother with est agents.
    Say sentimental.

Yeah they are sentimental, no worth at all.

I thought it was worth asking the question.

  • By the time you have asked on here you could have had them back...just ask. What is it these days that people can't move without consulting the internet and insisting on a poll to make a decision. Sheesh.

Bit rude. Have actually called them already but they weren't open.

I think forums may be the wrong place for you if you don't like the idea of people asking other people's opinions on the internet.

It's different asking people's opinions on a problem they may have but do you really need a poll to tell you what decision to make when you have left some stuff behind? Really?

Of course I don't need it. But I'm perfectly entitled to ask for opinions.

  • And I'm perfectly entitled to point put that you probably don't need a poll to make a simple decision like that.

If they're decent people, hopefully they've tried to get in touch with the EA to say that you'd left them, rather than just chucking them away.

I'm not why you had to come on here and wait for replies as to whether to contact them. They probably don't bite!

I suppose my OP was more about whether it was worth doing (i.e. chance of success) rather than whether I should ask or not, but badly worded now I've re-read it.

Anyway, just spoken to the EA and buyer says yes so we'll see if they get in touch.
