Insurance on a UK car while driving in the USA road trip
Guys,
In September 2014 we are shipping our own classic car to the states to drive Route 66.
Now Insurance........... I need insurance on the car to be able to drive it stateside. Has anyone taken their own car over?
And
I'm looking at buying another while over there so I'll need insurance sorted out on a USA car that I will be shipping back

Thats for car hire only, not personal car0 -
be sure to read up on certain state laws regarding vehicles and what is acceptable to be used on a road out there some states have wierd laws regarding what must be fitted to a car and imports and what must not be fitted to a car. there are many roadside checkpoints for DUI, state transport department vehicle checks etc.
ragarding insurance, ask your own insurers if they have a stateside equivelant insurer over there to insure the car with whilst its out there.0 -
