Faulty Maclaren Buggy not covered by lifetime guarantee for repair or replacement

I know this post is a couple of months old. I came across it looking for info on what to do with my buggy. I took it back to mothercare with a faulty brake 2 weeks ago and today they phoned and said maclaren had sent them a letter stating that my tyres were unevenly worn, rivets were loose and the bar at back of chassis was bent. This apparently is all down to wear and tear so not covered by any guarantee so I have to pay for it to be repaired. They have also said it is below safety standards. I bought the techno xt nearly 2 years ago as i got £30 off however I have only been using it for just over a year from when my baby girl was around 1n half year old. She is 2n half now and is by no means big and heavy enough to cause this damage.
Mothercare have said my issue is with them because it is not 2yr since i bought it but their 2year warranty doesnt cover this either. The maclaren lifetime warranty seems to be ineffective too.
I wasnt even aware of these apparent faults, it was just the brake that I was worried about.
Did u get a good outcome for your buggy?
Any info or ideas on where to go now because I feel I am right to refuse to pay this. I know come monday I will be speaking to trading standards anyways.

Sounds to me like the manufacturer had decided to take a generic NO stance, until someone pushes back.0
