Can I change a maintenance contract on a burglar alarm

I have a wired burglar alarm and have had no problems with either the alarm or the maintenance company until they merged with another company.
Since the merger they are slowly bumping up the annual maintenance price which we pay by DD every month, demanding an additional payment up front when we had a problem with a false alarm and today they cancelled the annual service with just over an hours notice.
We are planning to have new UPVC windows later this year (currently have wood) so the alarm may need replacing/altering. Before I tell the existing company to get lost do I need any information or access codes from them in order for someone else to maintain/alter the system for us in the future.
Sorry the post is a bit vague but any advice would be appreciated.

Does the current company provide monitoring and maintenance i.e. an annual service etc.?
Without knowing the make and model of the alarm system, it's difficult to advise on specifics.
It would be useful to obtain the Engineer/Installer and Master codes if you can.
Have you looked at Stanley Security Solutions for monitoring - they are fairly new?If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!

Find a new company and get them to tell you what they need in the way of codes before you cancel the old contract. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0
