Reject letter MBNA

Hi all, i'm new here but have been reading a lot on the forum about PPI and hoping someone can offer advice. I was sent a letter saying I may be able to claim PPI charges for MBNA card which I have had since 2007. I filled a form out and sent it to them. I took the card out online and I would never have asked for PPI cover. They have sent me a rejection letter which states the reasons as "you were given an option to tick the box and you ticked the box and signed" and also i had said I was not actually aware I had PPI on my account they state "you received regular statements clearly showing PPI being charged and you were sent updated T&C so you were aware you had PPI on your account".
Now, I have been getting online statements instead of paper ones for years and now online I can only access the last year, having gone through those ones I cannot see where the PPI is shown!!
Would it be included with the interest!? I am really confused whether I have actually had PPI or not now. The thing is they have sent me a "supposed" copy of the application form which shows my name, address and the PPI box ticked and it's dated 16 May 2007, they say in the letter i took out the PPI on 18 May 2007. The "copy" of the application looks standard to me and could easily be copied and pasted, I haven't seen it before and I'm still not convinced. What should I do?

No, if it didn't appear on a separate line you didn't pay it that month. Be aware that you can actually have PPI active on your account and never actually pay any if you paid off your balance each month.

This is also possible, although unlikely since the Bank has records that show you did have PPI.

This will be a reconstituted copy of your application, it's not the original and it's allowed not to be.

To be honest, the Bank have declined your complaint on the basis that you applied online for it and so mis-bought rather than were mis-sold. Why then are you questioning whether you actually had PPI?
It seems to me the result is the same whether you had PPI or not; your complaint has failed and you get nothing!

If you feel your complaint has been wrongly declined then you can refer it to the Ombudsman, but you don't have a very strong case I'm afraid.
